Not gonna lie, the title of the choose your own adventure story definitely takes the pressure off voting then second guessing my voting.
This is all very exciting. Looking forward to all of it.
I heard from the very clever Ryan North when researching and building M&LMD that readers ALWAYS go for the wildest option...so I'm curious to see if that will bear out. Gonna be fun!
That will be neat to see if we follow Ryan's experience as well. I'm totally keep track of my votes to see if I go with the group. Just out of curiosity, were you going to add a quick bit about what would have happened if the vote had gone differently?
This obviously isn't a true CYOA type of story -- because that assumes all the different paths are written -- and that readers can go back and read the paths not taken. Instead this is the readers and I working together to create one path (that starts with my outline but becomes something else). And that's a very different thing.
HOWEVER. Depending on how this project goes -- I can totally imagine going back and writing alternate endings or alternate paths -- maybe for a published volume we could do something like that?
I think a lot of it is going to depend on the quality of the story we ultimately get out of it and also how the experience went.
This is the project on the slate that I am most excited about and also most concerned about (in that I am a control freak and this deliberately has very few controls on it).
That would be super cool if it turned out well enough for a possible revisit for alternative endings. Looking forward to both the story and seeing how it turns out.

I would have commented on this when I received your email a few hours ago but I was so blown away by all the amazing announcements, I got the vapors, swooned onto my fainting couch, and was unconscious until just now.
