Can’t wait to see “Pharmacist recommended!” at the end of the first trade! Hope everything for you is much easier the rest of the year. Can’t wait to read the new BoP! Been loving it so far - definitely Damon recommended!
Which… isn’t as cool as Pharmacist recommended. But I do love it!
Sometimes I hate having to wait until Fridays to snag my pulls (especially when your books are in the lot). But it sounds like this is going to be a solid week.
Good luck (break a finger? What is the superstition for writing?) with the script (s)!
Sorry you're going through it right now Kelly, I too hope that your family and the city will see everything turn around with the quickness.
My brother lives a couple blocks from Tabor and the pictures he sent me of the park after the ice storm were nuts.
I'm hoping to visit him next month if there aren't anymore stormpocalypses as I recently discovered and became instantly addicted to Kate's Ice Cream on Mississippi Ave. If you need a day brightener I HIGHLY recommend this vegan ice cream shop and their divine gluten free waffle cones. Even my non-vegan non-gf family was raving about it. Bonus--there's an all cat themed gift shop right next door.
BOP and the Cull crushed it as usual.
*Mild spoiler?* I'm looking very much forward to more of them both, and specifically to how exactly each of them will evolve in their second arcs :)
Sorry to hear about Monarch, but I'm glad he's doing better - hopefully he's as stubbornly resilient as his namesake! And at the risk of sounding like a broken record: please take all the time you need to get where you want/need to be - your actual, real-life stuff is orders of magnitude more important than a mere delayed order. Besides, you've still been delivering... (I swear I didn't realize I was making a shipping pun when I started typing that) stellar comics in the meantime! I mean, BoP especially has bewilderingly exceeded my already very, very high expectations since the start. I'm increasingly apprehensive (in a good way) of The Cull's arc finale, and there's a subtle but distinct buzzing in the back of my mind that I've recognized as a jonesing for more Black Cloak down the line. I'd probably be suffering from severe Carol withdrawal too, but thankfully I had some strong medicine between the movie and the fact that Alyssa Wong's usually pretty damn good too IMHO.
Anyway, that's just my compulsively over-verbose way of saying "We're all good!"
Thanks for the update, Kelly! BOP #6 was an amazing and fantastic finale. The part when they were all trying to close the urn looked so awesome! I am looking forward to The Cull with equal parts hope and terror cause it looks like Something Bad will be happening... but I know the story and art will be perfect.
And yes, I think I had more dialogue on that page with them closing the urn, but Leo's art for that page said all it needed to, so I cut almost everything. Love it when I can do that. <3
I do the same thing with hope Kelly. I’m glad Monarch’s okay and he has the cutest little legs I’ve ever seen on a cat 🐱 reminds me of horse 🐎 hoofs 🐾🐾
BIRDS OF PREY: Providing Thrills and Prescribing Pills!
Best of luck to the humans and felines in your family (and all other species, if I missed any). I hope all will be well very, very soon. And I can lend you some extra hope if you run out. (Although, I remember from Daredevil: Born Again that hopelessness can be pretty badass. Kingpin learned the hard way that a man without hope... is a man without fear. *chills*)
Oh man, what a hard start for your family and you. Sorry about all of that. I hope it get normal (whatever that looks like), then better, and then all the folks who love you drop by and give you love and support. Thanks for the updates, congratulations on being recognized as an excellent writer who works with so many outstanding team members and collaborate on the highest levels. The joy you bring us with your teams work is helping me find little moments of brightness throughout these literal and situational storms now. Take care and peace, maka
Hopefully it’s all uphill from here! Glad to hear the check-in. The 73 days of January were pretty hard so hopefully post Groundhog Day brings early spring mentally too!
Oof. Glad you got through the storms and Monarch made it through the ER trip. Done that as well and it’s rough. Emergency vet trips are the worst and leaving them there is gut wrenching.
We did have one trip that was funny afterwards (except the bill part haha) though. We were woken up at 2am by our greyhound crying which was really unusual. He was standing there shaking and panting. we checked his stomach and he screamed. Oh boy. Is it a torsion? what? Off to the 24 hour vet. They did a bunch of checks and an x-ray. Vet said he was just constipated. Which was a relief but exasperating. Got home at 430 and he did his business right away and trotted off to bed happy. Thanks bud, glad you are okay. Sigh

I mean...is anything cooler (or maybe funnier) than a Pharmacist Recommended comic book?
Pharmacist recommended is also how I would explain It’s Jeff. Serotonin for all!
Definitely.
Felt wierd making a BoP post in Cull thread so .... here?
Super late on reading this week. So many great lines. And then the whammy at the end with a new mission statement. So good.
Can't wait to see who the "new team" is.
And I will mourn the glory that was this team. Such an awesomely written team.
Thank you!
I'd tease you about the new team -- but thanks to covers it's mostly been revealed!
Next issue Barbara/Oracle is fully in the mix. Dinah, Cass, Barda, Sin/Megaera, and Meridian are all staying on, and Vixen joins up! ;D

I have NOT tried Kate's -- will add it to the list!
OMG poor lil Monarch baby! 😥 Glad he's ok! And glad you're hanging in there too after all that!
Really excited for a double Kelly book week though! Woo!! 🙌

Looking forward to The Cull tomorrow! And I am a few issues behind on BoP but issue 4 is currently at the top of my To-Be-Read pile right next to me.
My favorite issue! ;D

Yeah, maybe I needed Phil to just kick the cobwebs of 2023 out. Let's hope.
