Not to toot my own horn but: *tooooooooooooot* ("Fool! Doctor Doom toots as he pleases!") I voted (in-person early voting this year... it was easy and cool!) and encourage everyone to do it. Thanks for using your platform to encourage this absolutely essential civic duty, Kelly!
Yeah, we moved to Oregon like...6 years ago? Something like that? And I cannot believe how great mail-in voting is here. So easy. Do it at your leisure in the comfort of your own home, they send a terrific (very comprehensive) Voting Booklet too -- so any issue or candidate you're unsure about or unfamiliar with -- you have access to detailed information on that -- as you vote. It's the greatest thing. I don't understand why the entire country doesn't have this system. I see people standing in these lines for HOURS all over the country and I am SO GRATEFUL TO THEM, but also just wish it could be as easy for all of us as it has been for me.
I've always had a pretty easy time voting even before we moved here and I got the priviledge of mail-in voting -- I think only once did I wait in a line that was more than...20 minutes or so? But voting has changed so much since then. I hope one day it's as easy for everyone as it is for Oregonians (and others with similar systems). Also hoping that, y'know, Democracy survives. Gonna be a long day.
That is pretty fantastic. I wish we had the booklet as well. We get a short explanation on the ballot, but it's seriously a couple lines of text. If you want to find out about judges, well, the Bar Association has a rating, but it's so frustratingly difficult to get any details. At least it's always been relatively easy to vote here. Sometimes our lines were longer, but for the most part it's always been pretty quick. We started doing mail in a while ago like you. It's so much faster and I don't feel like i have to rush when i'm trying to look something up.
Agreed, it's so amazing that people will take hours to stand in line to get their ballot cast and I'm also incredibly grateful. That's especially true for everyone in the states that have been openly hostile toward voting rights.
Here's hoping that both democracy does survive and that the updated voting rights legislation is passed and a whole of other rights are secured. Definitely going to be a long night/week.
Thanks for bearing with us and all our loud politics. Yes. All the fingers are crossed. We're definitely on the brink in a not great way. It will be a long ass day.
Let's not pretend we don't have the same issues here (newest young gun conservative leader thinks Bitcoin should be a key investment option and socially conservative).
I hope you can relax a bit before results start coming in

That's great!
Yeah, Oregon has mail-in ballots which are a dream.
Glad you got to do in-person early. More of this!
Thanks Kelly. Civic duty completed. Couple days ago really. Illinois also has a pretty solid mail in ballot option.
Good!

Voted! 🌊💙 Now just 🤞🙏 for a good outcome. It's an uphill battle here sadly.
Thanks Kelly! Did mine first thing in the AM and hoping for the best 💜
Done. Thanks, Jeff!
I sadly can't vote at I'm Canadian, but in going to be watching results. Hoping for a blue wave

No problem, we are your neighbours!

Love you too Kelly. Whatever may be.
