Iām just playing because I wanted to try to list only three: anything by Tom Taylor (but going with Nightwing); anything by Stephanie Phillips (but going with Grim); and anything by Chip (in this case Public Domain).
I just got my Jeff cover (and the Nick Bradshaw 1:25 Variant, depicting Venom as a baseball player!) in the mail today!!! I place my Midtown order every week, for the following week, as soon as they list them (a lil after Noon Pacific Standard Time). I learned [the hard way] that's the easiest way to get everything you might want, with minimal exceptions :D \m/
No problem I am very much looking forward to it.. I think black cloak was the first ever book by you that I have read.. was very impressed love the art love the theme.. I just published my first comic book as a writer but only on Lulu books.. you gotta start somewhere.. anyway I've got a fantastic couple of artists one in particular Glen Pearce.. from Australia Melbourne..he did a book for fantagraphics and is currently signed with fantagraphics.. so thank you for your work and inspiration to write comics all of you wonderful writers out there.. bring on The Cull.āļøyeah unfortunately I can't subscribe to the sub stack newsletters I just get free subscription which is great in itself updates and whatnot.. thank you for your reply... I really appreciate it..
Missed the window for a code, but I like talking about books that excite me and Detective Comics, X-Men Red, and Immortal X-Men are my big non-Kelly books. Ram V, Al Ewing, and Kieron Gillen know the trick to grabbing my attention (in different ways no less) and have the good fortune to be paired with incredible artistic partners. The Flash would have been in the mix too but the Jeremy Adams run just wrapped and Spurrier hasn't started yet. It's been nice to see so many newer creators given the chance to swing big on books the last 5-10 years (to the point where many are now established). It feels like one of the big problems as a modern reader is that there's too many great books to keep up with everything.
Current favorite Non-Kelly-Thompson comic book.... (drum roll)... Star Trek by Collin Kelly & Jackson Lanzing and Ramon Rosanas (and others)! (Also its sister book: Star Trek: Defiant by Christopher Cantwell and Angel Unzueta.) SO GOOD!
Thank you very much I really appreciate it.. actually it is a poetry comic book.. so.
That's sort of my Forte the moment.. old poetry that's been sitting in my draw for almost 1520 years... And I thought why don't I adapt these into a comic book so I'm blessed to have some good artists around me because I can't draw for sticks... Yes indeed it was the first book of yours that I have read.. and I can't wait for more.. I'm going to try some autobiographical semi fiction stuff instead of poetry prose.. have many ideas it's just hard to get started.. I have another one in the Pipeline
I'm just doing it for my own enjoy iment and for my friend's entertainment..but it would be lovely to get something published through fantagraphics one day.. you never know... Thanks for your reply and your kind words I really do appreciate it.. you are a lovely lady keep up the good work and I shall be following your substack.. vehemently..āļø
Ok Iām on a mission to tell everyone I know about The Cull š Iām way too excited for this!! Very cool for Extreme Venomverse, sadly I placed my order already and Iām sure they wonāt last until my next order š
