My little shark boi. Who knew he had an EISNER IN HIM!?! Frankly? Once Gurihiru got on board, I knew he had one in him, I find everything they do truly magical. And if you do too, check out a bit of info below about their adorable new book UNICO!

I was unfortunately not able to attend the Eisners but the magnanimous and very tall Ryan North read a short little speech for me that mostly thanked Gurihiru and the fans and Marvel and the people I love and talked extremely briefly about how rewarding it felt to win for an all-ages title. Jeff has always felt like a win to me, so him winning… sorta just feels right? But we wouldn’t be here without all of you supporting him, so THANK YOU.

And it WAS a very JEFF SDCC from his debut as a playable character in Marvel Rivals (he’s entered the beta stage — and the hype around him is so big and fun that I am real hopeful he’s a big hit — he certainly took the wind of Thor’s sails — sorry my dude, you’re still cool — it’s just hard to stand next to Jeff) ;D

There was an exclusive SDCC Jeff Plush giveaway. I was lucky enough to get ONE from Marvel directly, but they appear sold out and going for A FUCKING LOT on ebay. Good luck and godspeed if you’re trying to get one — I admit they are very fucking cute.

BIRDS OF PREY #12 is out this week (AIPT has the gorgeous 4-page preview) and it is one of my favorite issues of the entire run as it perfectly executes what we’ve been trying (with admittedly mixed results) to do in each of these issues — really highlight the fun (and also danger and chaos) created by the Pocket Dimension. We begin with Javier Pina’s gorgeous shredded dinosaur ladies and then shift into Sophie Campbell’s gloriously fun cartoon world ladies…and Gavin Guidry continues to anchor us in the real world. All of this masterfully colored by Jordie Bellaire. Even Screen Rant’s talking about our “violent cartoon reality.” :D

Our first trade is also out this week! BIRDS OF PREY: MEGADEATH! And because we’re extra lucky there’s a hardcover version AND a softcover.

SCARLETT #3 is also out this week! Skybound has the preview here. And it’s on Bam Smack Pow’s books to read this week.

There’s also a little known book called UNCANNY X-MEN #1 debuting this week and I’ve heard it heavily features Rogue and Gambit. ;D Written by Gail Simone and drawn by David Marquez, who BY THE WAY drew one of the most casual “the hotness of these chaaracters is off the goddamn charts” images of them that exists even BEFORE he got this book, so I expect to be DELIGHTED:

POWERPUFF GIRLS #2. So. I’m gonna be real with you, there are so many great sneak peeks for PPG 2 (8/21/24) that I’m going to post multiples. I can’t help it! Especially because, this first one with the rainbows… when you write something like that you’re hoping the artist does something fun with it… when it’s so much better than you could have imagined… well, those are just the best days.
