Oh my goodness that Deadpool & Jeff looks so good. But more importantly.. 2022 is gonna be MASSIVE! Looking forward to reading all the great stuff next year. And, of course, the title is off of Die Hard (100% a Christmas movie).

Here’s a Q if you have time: What inspired you for Captain Marvels newest power-up? It’s just crazy that it hasn’t been done before with her because it just makes *sense*.

Thanks, Damon! And I love this question - and I have a good answer - I'll put it in the next Q&A. And nice pull on Die Hard - I THOUGHT it was obvious, but you never quite know for sure on these things.

I am SO excited for the January releases! It's perfect really, because post winter holidays is the doldrums of the entire year and we need a little cheer. What better to do on a cold winter day than curl up with an awesome comic and a warm beverage? Between your new books and Black Widow returning plus Saga being back, it's going to make me much less likely to want to totally hibernate. 😜

Also I finally got on Marvel Unlimited and have now feasted upon the goodness of all the "It's Jeff" stories. He is the best best boy and I love him!

I'm glad you agree, Jacki! TBH, the second I let go of starting in December (I had that idea in a vice grip!) I felt so much better. I hate waiting, but it's the right call for a whole host of reasons.

I'm so glad you found Jeff and love him!

God, I forgot we were getting more Saga soon. SO EXCITED!

I hope most people here would be understanding and supportive over release times and delays (unforseen or otherwise) when you're taking time out of your schedule to communicate them to us.

I know I'm not the first one to prove I know exactly where the title comes from but I want my "secret cool points," too. The quote obviously comes from the classic Bruce Willis action film, "Out of Death" (0% - Rotten Tomatoes). (A movie with no stakes, apparently. Because, judging from the title, everyone's immortal...? "Oh, you want some death? Sorry, pal. We're all out.")

Ha, ha! Jokes R Fun!

Also, I want you to know that you don't need to feel any pressure from me about the drawing for physical prizes because I literally forgot that was a thing! (Which I hope you'll take as a testament to how much I love your writing. Because I'm not here to win cool stuff, I'm here to get access to your awesome work and learn about your creative process and whatnot.) Now, that's not to say I want my name removed from the upcoming drawings. I still hope to win me some physical prizes like a pair of "Widow's Bite" bracelets, signed by Natasha Romanoff or maybe a pair of those "Soul Print" goggles from Black Cloak. (I wouldn't trust myself with one of the sidearms.)

Secret cool points acknowledged. Solid joke also acknowledged. ;D

I actually LOVE that you forgot about the contests. That means a lot to me.

Fewer than 250 people have backed?? Wild!

I'm a comics retailer--your books sell great and I have long made the pronouncement that you're one of the very best writers working within the mainstream. You both have a voice of your own, and you capture the best parts of my favorite runs. Your Black Widow feels like a worthy successor to the Waid / Samnee run to me, and your Hawkeye felt like a direct sequel to what Fraction and Aja established.

Personally I was a late backer because I didn't get the memo about your substack starting up. Not sure how to boost that signal, but maybe once the pages are flowing freely some more buzz will generate? I certainly hope so, everyone needs to get it together and give you their money :)

I think we're over 250 - we're just not over 250 at the $70/annual and higher tier. Lots of monthly subscribers that don't get counted in the contest numbers.

But thank you for both the support and the kind words!

I do hope that when comics start coming out we'll see some new subs - there's going to be A LOT of great content (even more than originally planned). And I can certainly understand waiting, I might feel the same way? But I am super thankful to those of you that came on early - it makes a huge difference in more ways than just financial.

Keep selling those books (but especially mine!) ;D

This all looks so exciting Kelly! I can't wait for the next few releases (and beyond!) Now if we're not sure about where we fall on the various cutoffs, is there any way to know?

So, only the first contest (limited to the first 100 paid subscribers - annual tier and up) has reached its cut off point. So people can subscribe today (at annual tier and up) and still be eligible for both of the other contests. But an easy way to verify is to check when you subscribed - anyone that backed at those levels in the month of September made the cut (and I checked for you and you were Sept 30th - so you're in!) THANK YOU! <3
