Welcome back to Part 2 of “Happy 2022! Mostly A 2021 Wrap Up!” Continuing here now because I don’t know how to edit myself or manage my time! Yay! : / Here I’m going to do a round up of some of my favorite TV shows and Comics of 2021, as well as a brief look back at my own work this year.
Arcane was my surprise show of the year. Heard so many things about it and give it a try and… wow. Had no clue about anything going into it. Favorite animated project of 2021 easily. Seems like Hailee Steinfeld is everywhere these days (and killing it in each role).
Thanks for sharing your top stuff from 2021. Caught myself nodding vigorously in agreement with some of it and am curious to check out the rest. Your work for sure buoyed big chunks of the year for me, so thanks for that!
Oh crap, is this the last season for The Expanse?! Noooo!!! 😱 That has been a staple. Definitely had some overlap on with your favorites list. Maid was so eye opening - agree that one has stuck with me. Shadow and Bone ended up being a family favorite ... I freaking love that goat. 😂 And of course we devoured WandaVision along with most all of the Marvel D+ shows including Loki and Hawkeye. Handmaid's Tale ... I'm still mixed on how it wrapped up last season. It was tough.
I'm way behind on comics, so thanks for the recommendations! Finally catching up on Hellions via Marvel Unlimited.

I refuse to accept that The Expanse is ending. We watched S6 E5 on Thursday and, I mean, is E6 going to be like 10 hours long? Because that's the only way I feel they'll be able to wrap up in a satisfying way from where they are now in the story. I'm glad I haven't burned through the books and still have 6 left to read, because I am not at all prepared to live without these characters.

It's cool to see how much overlap we have in our tastes--but now that means I have to watch and read a ton of stuff that you have sold me on, oh no!
I cosign everything you had to say about Nice House, and SIKTC (the origin arc leveled up so hard!). Nice House #1 was probably the best debut of the year for me tied with Ultramega #1.
Did you read Ultramega? It's so gorgeous and different. Similar to NHOTL- the subsequent issues are not as mind blowing as the first, but the series as a whole is genre defying boundless creativity. Harren it turns out is as good a writer as he is an artist.
