Just a quick one today to debut some cool stuff!
So you’ve already seen the gorgeous illustration that Mattia De Iulis did for our first cover, but you’ve never seen it with the logo/text included.
And this also serves I suppose as the announcement that incredible letterer (and Eisner-winning editor of PanelXPanel!) Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou has joined THE CULL team as letterer.
This cover was illustrated by Mattia, and like our BLACK CLOAK covers, is designed by the excellent Rian Hughes:
As a bonus…here’s a favorite ominous panel of mine from issue 1:
Let’s have a cover-related question today in honor of Mattia’s gorgeous cover — if you can ONLY PICK ONE — what is your favorite Comic Book Cover of all time. I know, I know, we all have dozens if not hundreds of favorites that mean so much to us. But if you had to pick one that you always come back to… one that’s never far from your mind… what’s THAT one.
If we get enough great submissions, I’ll pull them together into a post later so we can show them off and chat about them. It’ll be almost like my old “Drunk Cover Solicits” column…except with all GOOD covers and no one is drunk. Okay, wait. So it won’t be like Drunk Cover Solicits at all. Never mind! ;D
Later, my lambs.

Woo, great cover!
Without going through every comic in my apartment, I would have to say Russell Dauterman's Jean Grey costume variant for X-Men #1 (2019): https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/54fce1d5e4b00126ca69156f/1624230057598-NJXUNW7TPIXOUR8J2GB8/russell_dauterman_x-men_1_jean_grey_variant_cover.jpg
I think this was the first variant cover I ever bought.
OK, I was looking through covers for a while trying to figure out how I could pick a favorite when I had my little epiphany and realized there's REALLY only one answer I could give to this - https://www.marvel.com/comics/issue/10357/new_mutants_1983_21
