BRIDE(S)
Big announcement today that I am so excited to share with you guys.
After Mattia wrapped work on the ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN ANNUAL, we started working on BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN LIVES for Skybound’s Universal Monster line. It’s a 4-issue mini-series that begins in October — OCTOBER 28th 2026 — and it’s really a dream come true gig. I’m sure you’ll hear me (way too many times) talk about this over the next couple months — but if you know my writing at all you probably get why this is one very close to my heart. Additionally, any of you who have been around a long time and are STORYKILLER fans, you know what a fan I am of FRANKENSTEIN, both as novel, as character, as genre-defining concept — the literal BIRTH of Science Fiction.
Here’s a quick look at most of the insanely gorgeous and cool covers:

Here are two write ups with more details about the series and some quotes from the creative team and our editor at Skybound, Alex Antone. A huge thanks to Skybound and Universal for this opportunity. We’re pushing the envelope a little bit on this one, and the support from Skybound and Universal has been really key. I think this one’s pretty special.
Mattia did all art and colors of course, and Becca Carey (who does the fantastic lettering on ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN) is joining us here as well, and bringing all her brilliance with her.
Here are four preview pages — and when I tell you it’s just the beginning I am not kidding — this book is SO beautiful — and I think powerful too though you guys will ultimately decide on that last point yourselves:
The webstore is still open with new copies of ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN #21, JEFF THE LAND SHARK: SUPERSTAR #1, and a few ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN VOL 2 HARDCOVERS. If you need the 22% code, just grab it from the last post here.
I have a lot of you emailed asking about ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN #20 — which never appeared in the store. I am still hoping DC is going to be able to find or replace the comps box I never received. I’ll let you know if/when that changes — I remain hopeful as DC is very good at the “comps thing” generally.
I did a big interview with my friend (and old boss!) Brian Cronin at CBR — all about my BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER and ANGEL books.
Kat Calamia at Comic Uno lists Buffy as her most anticipated book of the month — hope we can deliver, Kat!
Tokitokoro — the artist on our upcoming comic JEFF THE LAND SHARK: SUPERSTAR (issue #1 out next week! July 8th!) — shared this hilariously adorable Kawaii-Wolvie sketch page over the weekend:
Okay. That’s it for today — still have a lot of work to catch up on after illness and my family being in town for the weekend, which was a delight, especially after being so sick for so long. Talk to you guys soon!

Kelly, please! I’m trying to cut down on comics! Stop writing things I have to buy!!
Has anyone made more with less than Elsa Lanchester?
The Bride was only on screen for, like, four minutes.
