Barda Breaks More Than Minds Indeed

So DC didn’t want me to post this BIRDS OF PREY teaser for you guys a couple weeks ago, but I saw it on Bleeding Cool this weekend so I think that makes it officially fair game. ;D

I warned you guys that issue 7 was pretty sexy and issue 8 was just full stop sexy. And I know it’s not always exactly my thing, but I love it, truly, and without any hesitation or reservation.
There’s a lot of history of BIRDS OF PREY being a sexy comic book. And so I wanted us to play with that (you honestly can’t stop these characters from being sexy, it’s impossible!) but I wanted to do it in a really fun way that doesn’t feel exploitative and is very self aware of itself and really makes sure the ladies are in control of their choices — or vocal about it when not (we hear you Dinah, enough!)
Anyway, it’s a hell of a lot of fun before we launch into a truly wild arc that I can’t wait for you guys to get into. I talked a little bit about it at the end of this interview I did with Rosie Knight at DC.com.

I am so excited that this is headed back to you guys so soon. Meredith has done a TON of new designs (five year skip is a lot of design work!) and I’ll start posting them soon and teasing you guys with lots of new stuff coming.
We’ll also do a new “character creator game” for paid subscribers — and the winner, like last time, will get to have their character appear in a speaking role in the book.
