The Future is...Pause-y?
Not exactly a proclamation to excite the masses!
Let’s unpack it! Fun!
First of all, thanks for your patience as I figured out this billing issue with Substack.
Since we’ve had some kind of snafu with the subscription extensions I’ve asked Substack to refund all of those “renewals” (monthly AND yearly) that processed between December 27th and today. For clarity - NEW subscribers at monthly or yearly tiers will not be refunded at this time, just monthly and yearly “renewals.”
But doing that means that I have to put the entire Substack “On Pause” — and that means
A) while people can still subscribe, nobody can subscribe for PAID subscriptions tiers
B) All content will be available for all until we un-pause ETA: UNTRUE. This was a miscommunication with Substack. Things remain behind paywalls as ever.
C) NOBODY will be charged while we are “On Pause” and
D) When we DO un-pause, all those renewals (monthly $5/month AND yearly $50/year) will process as per usual.
This is obviously a risk for me, as I have to believe that you’ll all still be here and still be interested for what’s next. But it’s not really that much of a risk when I consider it against NOT giving you guys a good value for your money (which is where I feel like we are right now if I let those “year 2 renewals” stand).
So I hope this makes sense to you guys. Let me know if you have any questions — or concerns. One bonus is that the comments section will now be open to all readers (until paid subs get turned back on) — so if you’ve been wanting to leave a comment — it’s YOUR TIME! ;D
And a little Housekeeping for the Founders Backers! Emails went out over the weekend (from my gmail account) to gather up addresses for mailing out your Founders Packages — most of you got back to me right away (thank you!) — but I do still have a few stragglers, so if you’re a Founder, please check your email (and spam filters) and respond as soon as possible.
As soon as I get through the Founders Mailing, I’ll also be reaching out to those of you that have won contests/drawings over the last year+ so I can get those packages out ASAP as well, so if you won, keep your eyes peeled for an email from yours truly.

Like Batman’s Year 2. That had that badass Reaper character and McFarlane art. Probably in my top 3 Bats stories.

Sorry you have to deal with all these technological headaches. If I had to manage a Substack, I'd probably tear my hair out. Thank goodness I don't write so goodly and don't have any hair. WHEW.
(But on a slightly more serious note, good luck with the technological hurdles and I hereby declare I'm sticking with ya. Byyyyeeeeee!)
