Hello friends!
It’s a busy and stressful time. But this week my long-awaited Jeff The Landshark comic with the incredible Gurihiru debuted on Marvel’s new Infinity Comics app (through Marvel Unlimited) and that makes all the stress and busyness worth it.
You can read the first two Jeff stories now on the Marvel Unlimited app under INFINITY COMICS - and I believe there will be a new one every week…well, until we run out! And there’s lots of other good stuff on there too including X-Men stuff by Jonathan Hickman and Declan Shalvey; Giant Size “Little Marvels” by Skottie Young and Dax Gordine; and Alyssa Wong and Nate Stockman’s Shang-Chi - and a whole lot more!
I do not know if these will eventually be printed, that’s not my call. Obviously I hope so because I’d love to have some Jeff on my shelf, but for now, they’re digital only. Also, if you already have the Marvel Unlimited app, you may need to update or re-install in order to see the new content.

I think we pretty much covered this. This week is ALL ABOUT IT’S JEFF!
But I also hope you guys picked up CAPTAIN MARVEL #32 last week as it kicked off our exciting new arc LAST OF THE MARVELS! This one is high octane and moves fast and has gorgeous art by Sergio Davila and Jesus Arbutov! Plus there’s a development in issue 34 that you are NOT going to want to miss.

WHAT I’M DOING!
Adam and I watched an absolutely terrific Danish film called THE GUILTY and I cannot recommend it more highly. It’s a masterclass in tension and performance and what you can do with the simplest of stories (and locations/resources/budgets) if you know how to twist the screws on a story. I don’t want to spoil anything, but if you’ve seen the incredible Tom Hardy film LOCKE (also highly recommended) then you know what I mean. There’s an American remake of this coming very soon starring Jake Gyllenhaal and it’s both perfect casting and I’m sure Gyllenhaal will nail it - this is exactly his kind of film, but I URGE YOU ALL TO WATCH THE ORIGINAL TOO - and if possible first. It is so goddamn good.
I am about halfway through Carmen Maria Machado’s short story collection HER BODY AND OTHER STORIES and I am so in love with it, I can’t even put it into words worthy of it. If you like short story collections, or even just being absolutely destroyed by beautiful bold feminist fiction, pick it up.
I’ve been drowning in work so am really behind on my comics reading, but I have some grand plans on that front soon - watch this space for more recommendations!

Okay, my loves, I gotta sign off and get back to work. I pulled an all-nighter last night trying to finish a tough Black Widow issue…and boy oh boy am I too old for that shit.
