I feel like if someone yelled HODGEPODGE! in public, I would immediately beginning running serpentine. I don’t know why that’s my instinct, but it is.
This post, as the title somewhat suggests, introduces a HODGEPODGE banner, where a lot of stuff that doesn’t easily slot into a category (and sometimes links that are more dated) fall into. Should be… interesting?
But first!

So good:
A lovely write up from Brian Cronin’s CBR on the 10-year anniversary of Sophie Campbell’s and my JEM & THE HOLOGRAMS run was a delight to read this week.
I did a fun interview with COMICS DISCOURSE 114 last week.
I meant long ago to post this lovely piece — it was really fun to watch Graeme and Ashley geeking out about BIRDS OF PREY (AND a charming short interview with G. Willow Wilson talking about her (no longer new, but still lovely!) comic THE HUNGER & THE DUSK!)
Also from the “archives” — Marvel did a really lovely write up (actually they did two!) about my CAPTAIN MARVEL run — the first highlights moments from the run, but the second includes quotes from some of my collaborators/colleagues. Quite moving for me. I don’t know who put this together, though I suspect lovely and amazing editor Sarah Brunstad. Whoever it was, thank you! <3
In the interest of both narcissistic self-promotion and also appreciation for more great in-depth comics analysis/criticism/commentary (we need it!) I stumbled across this incredibly cool analysis of our BLACK WIDOW run, and thought I’d share it with you guys.
Uh. Did you guys know Jeff has a wikipedia page? And it’s MASSIVE and well-sourced. Wild.
Everyone’s favorite section!
ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN #7 by me and Mattia De Iulis and Becca Carey, is out April 23rd. The final part of THE LADY & THE TIGER arc:
Mattia did some pages in a sort of “Greek fairy tale storytelling style” that are really fun, especially as contrasted with his regular panels/pages.
I showed this young Diana shot earlier as a contrast to another panel — but there’s an even more direct comparison in issue 7 I should have used, because Mattia’s a genius. Love it:
And in case you guys are worried it will be a “quiet issue”
IT’S JEFF Season 4 is in full swing over on Marvel Unlimited. This week it’s part two of Gwenpool trying to get Jeff to take his medicine. I’m sure you can imagine how well that’s going for her. The boy who wants to eat everything except his medicine. But here are a few shots from some another upcoming strip. This is, as always, by me and the incredible Gurihiru:
Jeff is not really a leash guy, but he’s willing to compromise:
“Lick” :D
And BIRDS OF PREY #21, out the first week of May. Part 2 of an exciting new arc that finds the Birds under attack, by me and Sami Basri, Vicente Cifuentes, Adriano Lucas, and Clayton Cowles:
And the internet has been chattering about this a little bit today, but this week we brought the incredible fan-favorite Batman Beyond character INQUE into the book (and into this… time?) Awesome character, it’s been really fun to play with her.
All right, that’s it for today. More soon! Take care of each other. <3
