I’ve been trying my best not to tease you guys with too much BLACK CLOAK stuff in part because I don’t want to spoil the actual comics reading experience, but I’ve been dying to show you guys some of these designs Meredith has been doing because I just love them so much.
So let’s just do it anyway!
Our lead is Detective Phaedra Essex. She’s a Black Cloak, one of the best, possibly THE best. But she’s also a high-born Elf with a mysterious past, having been technically exiled and officially stripped of her Royal status and titles years ago.
Her partner is Detective Theron II of Pax. And I REALLY want to tell you more about him…but I also don’t want to spoil some surprises from issue one. So I’m gonna err on the side of caution and just show him off and hold our secrets close! I THINK you’ll thank me later?
But I will show you the Black Cloak sidearms - which are not only gorgeous, but can give you some hints about the kind of world building we’re doing. Seeing that gun in action is…pretty damn cool and I can’t wait for you guys to see it too.
Ahhhh. It’s hard to stop! Took all my willpower to not just post it all!
ANYWAY. I also just want to take a moment to thank all of you that jumped on board for this experiment so far, I feel like I could not have asked for a better community than what we’re building here. I really appreciate your support and even though we’ve gotten a slower start getting comics up (mostly my fault) than I would have liked, I think you guys are going to love what we have coming — and there are even projects coming that I haven’t been able to talk about yet — suffice to say it will be MORE comics than you have been expecting, not less. Yay! <3
While some posts will continue to be free (even some new comics stuff as we try to lure in new readers), starting next week some stuff IS going to start going behind the paywall, so if you’ve been on the fence about subscribing, it might be time to commit to a paid tier.
