A hodgepodge of cool stuff today — including — below the paywall at the bottom the Finals of our X-Men War game for those of you playing!

Happy Free Comic Book Day to all who celebrate! This weekend is a great day to support your local comic book store by showing up for cool free stuff — and also buying some comics to help support the shop and the event. If you need help finding your local shop, try the comic shop locator.

I have a handful of orders that I’ll be trying to ship at the top of the week (sorry for the delay, lotta script deadlines right now and health is… eh, annoying at best, I’m sure many of you can relate — it’s always something, right?)

The promo codes for both free and paid subscribers are still good — see this newsletter for those codes.

And the web store has been updated — this week’s BIRDS OF PREY #21 is now in the shop — and thanks to a completely awesome package arriving from the brilliant Chris Conroy (editor of ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN) — a few rare or sold out ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMANS have been added to the shop. Unfortunately Marvel is slow with comps, so I don’t have any new JEFF books, but I expect to have a few later this month if you’re keeping an eye out.

BIRDS OF PREY #21 releases THIS WEEK. I really love this arc, and I hope you guys will check it out. There’s a preview of the issue at AIPT. And here are the covers on offer, a really great selection. I love Annie Wu’s main cover. So smart:

And the first of five “Paper Doll” covers, one featuring each bird, by Rian Gonzales:

When I was a kid I loved paper dolls and I had this incredible collection of them (not kept in some “collector-y” way… just kept in an old shoebox or two)… but my mother accidentally threw them out one day and I lost them all. It was devastating. lol. To this day she often buys me fun paper doll-related things as an eternal apology — so I’ve particularly been enjoying this new paper doll series by Rian.

Also a terrific Katana variant cover by Cliff Chiang. A super fun Canary and Cass variant by Nimit Malavia, and a Canary/Oracle team up Incentive Cover by Lee Garbett:

Oh my dominant fish-son. Tokitokoro and I are having a lot of fun, which mostly means Toki is drawing the cutest Jeffs ever. Look at this super concerned Jeff from issue 1 of JEFF THE LANDSHARK (out in June!)

Gah. I love him so much.

I did a very short interview with Comicbook.com about the new book — but it also contains some non-sequential interior pages from JEFF THE LANDSHARK #1. And also a reveal of Gurihiru’s issue 3 cover featuring Wolverine and Psylocke:

AIPT also has a preview up of IT’S JEFF: JEFF WEEK, which collects Season 3 of IT’S JEFF by me and Gurihiru, plus the strips from Gustave Duarte’s Jeff Week. This releases NEXT WEEK (5/7/25). Here’s one of the shorts insdie by me and Gurihiru:

Like ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN, it’s been impossible to keep up with all the incredible fan art, but here are a few terrific ones I saw recently.

By Shari - not sure why this one embedded and the others wouldn’t not but c’est la vie!:

I think the account below is the photographer, but Holtsclawcosplay is the actual cosplayer… I do not quite understand how this costume works or even how big it is, I just know… it’s awesome?

I know I posted about this great Jeff statue before, but seeing it in the wild here with other toys was a treat (also, how cute is that freaking Skottie Young styled Doc Ock?):

I wouldn’t call the boys GREAT travelers, okay, fine, I don’t even know if they’re GOOD travelers, but they do a great job of posing for travel photos:

Hang in there everyone. Give someone that needs it a hug.

Kelly
