AQUA-JEFF?
(A surprise comic! I can think of worse things!)
Well, we had a surprise comic come out this week…SURPRISE!?!
Obviously I knew AQUAMAN & JEFF was in the mix as I’ve…been writing it and stuff…but I did not know it was dropping this week. For all you print heads out there — it WILL be in print. I have no details on that, but I definitely did two proofs — one for digital and one for print — so… good news?
Anyway, you can read more about the AQUAMAN & JEFF comic here. There’s also this and this…though most links are probably similar/duplicate information. I’ll put some cute non-spoilery stuff in the sneak peeks below since I didn’t get a chance to tease it.
And if you want to read it right now digitally, you can follow this link and get there.
I’ve got about a dozen orders that were placed after 3/28 that are preparing to ship for next week, everything else shipped last week and if you don’t have it yet, please check your tracking number (which you can find on Paypal).
I lightly updated the webstore over the weekend with a re-stock of ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN #17, ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN #18, and the ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN ANNUAL. I also added some JEFF restock and the new JEFF & DAREDEVIL floppy (which also collects Season 4 of IT’S JEFF), and the new BIRDS OF PREY VOL 4 Trade.
So head on over if you were trying to pick up some things you missed. Fair warning, the prices on these re-stocks are a bit higher since I had to pay to restock them.
New webstore code for subscribers: enter SAKURA at checkout for 22% off your order. One code per order.
Nice list about how cool the ABSOLUTE books are and what they’re getting right.
This is an honestly incredible piece about ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN by Elijah Beahm at Unwinnable. A big thank you to Beahm for this piece as it brought me so much joy. I can’t tell you what it means to be seen in this way via my work, but it’s the kind of thing you’re always pushing toward. Thanks to all of you for reading my work so long that I finally got better at this thing and we finally got some stuff that’s making some noise. Feels good! <3
Nobody ever asks me about my CAPTAIN PHASMA comic that I got to do with Marco Chechetto! — but Wookieepedia did!
How can it be anything but the ARTEMIS II launch? The way people have been coming together to watch science and humanity do great and inspiring things together has been incredibly soul-restoring for me. I hope for you as well.
This little animation about the trajectory of Artemis II and also Apollo 11 and Apollo 13 is awesome (clever to put it to the INTERSTELLAR music) is awesome:
This is also awesome (unfortunately you have to click through on these):
Some of my favorite photos that have come from the ARTEMIS II journey:
It’s such a beautiful rare thing, our planet. I wish we were taking better care of it. It’s hard day-to-day to believe humanity deserves Earth, but seeing the Artemis II crew — and more than that — everyone joining together to experience it — has raised some faint stirrings of hope in very dark times. <3
I don’t usually share something this big, but there’s so much cool crap in ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN #19 (out at the end of the month!) that I’m just going for it and showing off this fantastic unlettered DPS which is also your first look at The Troika in action:
We’ve also got this beauty. Hayden’s paneling choices remain second to none:
And this. My god this book is so beautiful and has such range, I am so lucky. Thank you Hayden Sherman and Jordie Bellaire, you’re the true gods of this book:
As we discussed at the top of this newsletter, a special DC/Marvel crossover story pairing up Jeff and Aquaman came out this week — it’s digital only right now on MARVEL UNLIMITED but will be in print eventually. Here are a few very fun panels from the story, courtesy of Andres Genolet (who you may know from his excellent RUNAWAYS work) and also Jim Campbell who colored our JEFF THE LAND SHARK mini-series last year:
He is beauty, he is grace.
Take care of yourselves and each other. See you back here in a few. <3

The orange tabby. It took me a minute but now I can’t unsee it. It’s the marvel landing pose.
And I thought his arm pose was sick 🐈
